On my trip to Washington state last year with America’s Best Restaurants, I had the opportunity to visit Stick+Stone Wood-Fired Pizza in Richland.
At this restaurant, the oven isn’t just a piece of equipment, it’s the heartbeat of the restaurant. Flames lick the edges of dough, caramelize cheese, and create charred blisters that crackle with flavor. This is fire-tamed precision, rustic and refined, and it’s the perfect companion for the Bell & Ross BR 05 GMT, a watch designed for modern travelers who crave clarity and style no matter the time zone.
Now, let me tell you about the food.
First, I tried their most popular pizza, the Honey Badger. It was outstanding! This pizza is not for the faint of heart. A crisp, wood-fired crust with the perfect amount of chew holds together an outrageous cast of ingredients, starting with garlic confit, basil, soppressata, premium pepperoni, and a duo of cheeses, fresh mozzarella and Parmigiano-Reggiano, tied together with a house-made honey habanero sauce. It’s hot, sweet, savory, and wildly flavorful. This is by far, one of the best wood-fired pizza’s I’ve ever tried on the show. Like the BR 05 GMT, it balances punch and polish, bold spice and clean geometry.
Next, was the Pulled Pork Sandwich, and let me tell you, this sandwich means business. No joke. Stacked with house-made pulled pork that is super juicy and flavorful, choice cut peppered bacon, spicy coleslaw, extra sharp white cheddar, and finished with BBQ aioli, it hits every note on the palate: smoke, heat, crunch, tang, and richness. Think of it as the culinary version of the Bell & Ross’s integrated bracelet, a structural element that elevates the whole.
Generally, I’m not a fan of warm or hot desserts for that matter, so when the owner told me that he was going to make a S’mores Calzone, I was a little hesitant. Well, I’m glad I was wrong. Flame blessed and folded over, this dessert calzone is everything you love about the campfire classic but taken up a notch. Oozing marshmallow and melted Nutella chocolate spill from golden-brown dough, dusted with powdered sugar and crowned with a mint leaf. It’s comfort, spectacle, and indulgence, like checking the GMT hand and knowing you’re exactly where you want to be. THIS IS A MUST HAVE.
The Pairing
Stick+Stone takes an elemental approach, using flour, fire, time, and turns it into something memorable. The Bell & Ross BR 05 GMT does the same with steel, mechanics, and light.
