Up in the quiet wilds of northern Minnesota, Timberwolf Inn & Restaurant stands out like a precision machine among pine trees and snowdrifts. The PERFECT start to my visit to this restaurant. Consisting of grilled prime sirloin, garlic butter, a splash of wine, and golden toast points. Every bite delivers rich sear, tender and soft center, while the garlic butter simmers with just enough heat to keep you dialed in. It’s fast, focused, and wildly satisfying, like a clean downshift into a hairpin curve. You MUST get this appetizer when you come to Timberwolf!
Shrimp Palermo
Being a huge fan of seafood, this dish is right up my alley. Sautéed shrimp and Italian sausage tossed in a spicy cream sauce over pasta. This one brings the heat and makes you want more. The shrimp are plump, snappy, the sausage loaded with flavor, and the sauce clings like a well-tuned suspension. It’s not delicate, it’s engineered for impact.
Homemade Lasagna
I can’t resist lasagna whenever I see it on a menu, so I had to have it this time. It’s stacked high and molten with marinara and cheese, Timberwolf’s lasagna is a robust take on the classic. It’s built with layers of intent and topped with two meatballs that don’t play backup, they’re headliners. Like the RS17’s dial, this dish balances complexity and legibility without ever losing control. An absolute must have.
The Pairing
The Bell & Ross BR 03-94 RS17 isn’t for subtle moments.
